Revanth Reddy says he will challenge EC’s recognition of BRS in Delhi HC

After the Election Commission’s recognition of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), Revanth Reddy, president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, stated that he would challenge the decision in the Delhi High Court.

Reddy wants the Election Commission to refuse to recognize the BRS until a case he filed against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi is resolved. Reddy filed a case against the ruling party’s leaders in 2018, alleging that they collected party funds in violation of election commission norms.

He claimed that if the case’s verdict was delivered, the TRS would be legally finished, which is why Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao was so eager to change the name.

“TRS will lose its recognition if the judgment is delivered in the case filed by me in 2018. Hundreds of crores were collected by TRS leaders in the name of ‘Gulabi Coolie’, a fundraising campaign launched by KCR in 2018. According to the Supreme Court orders, MLAs, MPs, and MLCs are committing a crime if they engage in fund collection, which is equivalent to accepting bribes.”

Taking a shot at the TRS, Reddy stated that no action was taken against the TRS despite the Delhi Court ordering the ECI to investigate the ruling parties’ fundraising.

Reddy also claimed that TRS was safe because the BJP continued to support it in the corruption allegations. According to him, both the TRS and the BJP want to create a West Bengal-like situation in Telangana in order to undermine the Congress in the upcoming elections.

TPCC chief Revanth Reddy also predicted that the Congress would come to power in Telangana within a year, claiming that with the formation of the Bharat Rashtra Samiti, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao lost his footing in Telangana.
