Revanth Reddy’s Claims of Corruption and Bribery in Telangana Government

Revanth Reddy, President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, chastised Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and Minister Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao (KTR), accusing KCR of running a government that takes a 30% commission.

Addressing the media, Revanth Reddy challenged KTR to a discussion on 24-hour electricity supply and stated that KCR took a 30% commission on thermal project tenders worth Rs 45,730 crores. KCR, he claimed, had looted Rs 15,000 crores through corruption.

Revanth Reddy also accused the government of exploiting free electricity to bribe people and ignoring the central government’s commitment to provide electricity at a low cost. He said that the Congress party has improved power generation capacity and provided power to many villages across the country.

Revanth Reddy also chastised KCR for suspected corruption in the development of thermal power plants. He accused KCR of delegating civil works to his supporters rather than BHEL, raising fears about corruption. He wanted clarity about project prices and the companies involved in BHEL-delegated work.
