Rights & duties of allottees of projects explained

Hyderabad: As part of Awareness program on Real Estate (Regulation & Development) Act.2016 and TS RERA Rules-2017, an informative and interactive session was conducted at CDMA Office by TSRERA with the Allottees, Buyers and Residential Welfare Associations.

Addressing the gathering, TSRERA secretary Vidhyadhar stressed the importance of RERA in protecting the interests of allottees and buyers of properties in the Real Estate Projects registered under RERA. The rules related to rights and duties of allottees were explained through Power Point Presentation. He said through this portal, the allottees can know the information relating to sanctioned plan of project, layout plans along with the specifications and information on agreement for sale signed with promoters. The allottees can know the stage wise time schedule of completion of the project including the provisions for water, sanctioned, electricity and other amenities and services as agreed between the promoters and the allottees in accordance with the terms and conditions of the agreement of sale, he added. The allottees are entitled to claim the possession of apartment, plot or building as the case may be, and the association of allottees shall be entitled to claim the possession of the common areas, as per the declaration given by the promoters under the Act.

Director (Planning) Balakrishna said an allottee has to pay interest if the amount payable to the promoter was not paid in time as per the agreement. He also explained the process of registering complaint with TSRERA adjudicating officer through the portal in respect of grievance of allottee as well as promoters. (NSS)
