Rs 50 lakh for Amberpet Bonalu

Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said Rs 50 lakh will be spent for conducting Bonalu Festival at Mahankali Temple in Amberpet.

The minister conducted a review meeting with MP Bandaru Dattatraya, MLA G Kishan Reddy and officials on the State festival of Bonalu. The State government has allotted Rs 50 crore for conducting Bonalu festival in the city, he informed. The GHMC will spend Rs 50 lakhs for the conduct of Bonalu in Amberpet segment and provide all facilities. He appealed to the devotees to participate in the festivities in a peaceful manner as various departments will provide all facilities, Srinivas said.

Warning serious action against the officials for their negligence, the minister instructed all the departments to provide best facilities for smooth conduct of the holy event to be thronged by a large number of devotees most of them women and children. The officials concerned were instructed to take steps for barricading to avoid jostling, traffic regulation, parking, water and power supply, cc cameras for surveillance, bandobust by adequate number of police and conduct cultural programs.

He also informed that as many as 50,000 water sachets will be arranged for the devotees at the temples, Rs 5.60 lakh will be spent for LED lights setting for the festivities to be attended by about 200 sanitation workers to keep the premises clean. The GHMC was asked to clear drainage and address leakage problems and remove silt in 24 hours, he said. (NSS)
