Rs 500 Cr to Construct Markets in Municipalities : KTR

Municipal and IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao today said that the government will develop all municipalities in the state.

The government will spend Rs 500 crores to construct markets in all municipalities in the state, he said. He was participating in some development programs at Metpally, and other locations in the Jagitial district here.

SC Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar and MLAs were present. Speaking on the occasion the minister for municipal and Industries stated that the government will develop all the municipalities on a priority basis.

The minister said that municipalities number increased to 142 now in the state. We are spending Rs 500 cr to construct markets in 138 municipalities, he informed. The municipal act is giving good results and Palle Pragathi is proving handy he said.

The government allotted Rs 200 crores to construct public cemeteries in all districts in the state.

While the villages are developed to a better extent under the Palle Pragathi program towns will be developed under Pattana Pragathi he informed. The government is spending Rs 148 cr every month for all the municipalities towards development.

The Government is for increasing facilities and infrastructure by spending adequate funds. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is determined to give adequate funds for the municipality development, he informed.

The minister maintained that Rs 2.50 cr was spent to build a vegetable market and mutton and fish market in Metpally.  He hoped that the leaders and officials would coordinate to complete the development works in the district and state.
