Rs 6000 honorarium to RP of MEMPA: KTR

Hyderabad: Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao today announced sops to give Rs 6000 honorarium, health and insurance facility to resource persons under MEMPA across the state. During a meeting with them the minister said that the government has taken a decision in this regard which will benefit about 6000 workers (4800 existing and 1200 to be appointed). The salary hike will cost Rs 30 cr for the government he said and promised to release Rs 162 cr towards interest free amount of loans for women groups in the towns. Directing the officials to take immediate steps he said that the amount will be immediately released. To mark the traditional Rakhi festival, some of the women tied rachis to the minister and exchanged sweets and pleasantries.
KTR said that Rs 4000 will be given by the government and Rs 2000 by women federations for the purpose. In addition to 4800 workers, 1200 to be appointed in municipalities will be given this amount the minister said. (NSS)
