RTC JAC leaders arrested, say to continue hunger protest

Hyderabad: TSRTC JAC  Bus Roko protests across the State today arrests of leaders and police lathi charge on agitating workers including women.

Denying permission to the protest,  the police took RTC JAC leaders E Ashwathama Reddy, Raji Reddy at their residences and prevented RTC workers from staging protests in the city.

Ashwathama Reddy deplored the arrests of the JAC leaders and vowed to continue hunger protest until Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao calls for talks.  The police denied permission to protest at Indira Park and took the striking RTC workers into custody.  Despite setting aside the main merger demand the government is adamant he charged. The JAC leaders will continue hunger protests until the government call for the talks he said.

Ashwathama said that the police rounded his residence with huge force and threatening.  He also expressed displeasure that the state government owes Rs 3000 cr to the State RTC.  Reddy demanded the Chief Minister to hold forthwith the talks and end the stir.

In several districts, TSRTC workers came in large numbers on roads and shouted slogans against the Chief Minister and the government.

Meanwhile, KCR held a review on the RTC strike reached the 43rd day. The high court is to hear all the cases of the RTC strike and issues on November 18.
