RTI filed on human trafficking to Gulf

* Demands for CBI probe on labour trafficking to Gulf

A woman from Jaina village in Dharmapuri Mandal of Jagtial district has approached the district collector to seek justice for her husband for not getting health insurance worth Rs. one lakh due to illegal recruitment by Gulf recruiting agency owners.

Gangajala, a woman from Jaina village in Jagtial district submitted an application to the District Collector on Saturday under the Right to Information Act to state what action was taken on her memorandum which was submitted on 2nd March. She asked for the file notings and action is taken report. Her paralyzed husband Kokeni Posanna, their son Kritik Nandan (05), daughter Manaswini (02) and her father Rajalingu were along with her at District Collectorate.

On 2nd March she has lodged a complaint to the district collector against Tangella Gangaram and Tangella Satyam (Father & Son) owners of a Gulf recruiting agency called Karthik International, based in Jagtial district headquarter, for sending innocent Gulf workers to Dubai on visit visas to commit fraud and human trafficking. She requested a probe by the CBCID, the CBI, or any other investigating agencies on labour smuggling. She also made another petition as a reminder on Saturday.

Gangajala said that Posanna who has an ECR passport is legally entitled to an accident insurance policy called ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Bima Yojana’ worth Rs.10 lakh and a health insurance cover of Rs. one lakh. She said the Gulf recruiters are responsible for not getting medical insurance worth Rs. one lakh for Posanna.

She said that her husband’s medical expenses and the maintenance of two kids had become a burden. In her complaint, she alleged that Gulf agency owners had taken Rs 68,000 from her and sent Posanna to Dubai on a visit visa fraudulently and not issued an insurance policy as promised.
