Safe waters before deadline: Lakshma Reddy

Mahabubnagar: Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy today said that the works related to flagship Mission Bhagiratha scheme will be completed before the deadline. The Minister promised to supply purified Mission Bhagiratha waters to every household in his Jadcherla constituency in Mahabubnagar district by August. Releasing the Mission Bhagiratha waters from a tank over Ranganayakula Gutta near Jadcherla, the minister said that 360 villages will get benefit from the scheme soon. The people can remain healthy by drinking purified waters as liver problems are being caused due to consumption of impure waters. This is a historic scheme which is getting fructified with active coordination by several departments he said.

The minister also said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s determination of giving safe waters through MB scheme is becoming true in near future. KCR is keeping the promise by involving all departments such as panchayat raj, RWS, forest and railways to offer protected waters. Drinking surface waters will keep one healthy and the water scheme will be supplementing to it he said.

The minister also cited the examples of Haritha Haram and Mission Kakatiya to increase green cover and revive lakes and water bodies in villages. The water scheme is first of its kind going to complete even before the deadline he averred. With the scheme is nearing completion there is no need for women to carry pots on to the streets to fetch drinking waters, he said. Every household in his Jadcherla segment will be getting safe and purified drinking waters in August, he said. (NSS)
