SAS Group Poll Predicts BRS Lead in Telangana Assembly Elections

The Sri Atmasakshi (SAS) Group has issued its opinion poll for the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections. According to the SAS poll, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is on track to score a decisive victory.

According to the SAS Group poll, the BRS is likely to receive 42.5 percent of the vote, while the Congress is expected to receive 36.5 percent and the BJP is expected to receive 10.75 percent. The situation on the ground was appraised on October 28, which coincided with the publishing of the second list of 45 Congress candidates.

According to the SAS Group analysis, there are a few seats where tight races might occur, with the BRS leading in three, the Congress in two, and the BJP in one. The poll also highlighted the state’s Silent Vote Factor (SVF), which is 1.75 percent. Typically, 80 percent of the SVF supports the political party that obtains popular trust and momentum soon before elections.

The SAS Group performed three polls over a three-month period. The first poll was done between July 18 and August 17, while the second survey was conducted between August 21 and October 30. The third survey was conducted from October 2 to October 28.

The surveys collected data in 110 Assembly seats, resulting in a total of 265,000 samples collected by 820 enumerators. On average, 2,400 samples were gathered from each constituency using a 60:40 split of random and selected sampling approaches.

Farmers, students, unemployed youth, government and retired government employees, private sector employees, small business traders, wage earners, homemakers, RTC employees, auto drivers, Anganwadi/Aasa/Dwakra workers, and others were among those surveyed by the SAS Group.

In compared to 2018, the SAS survey found a 4.3 percent decrease in the BRS vote share. The BRS, however, continues to lead the Congress and the BJP.

The SAS Group correctly predicted that the BRS (formerly TRS) would win 88 seats (actual: 88), the Congress would win 19 seats (actual: 19), and the BJP would win one seat (actual: one) in the previous Telangana election. The group’s projections for the Karnataka elections were similarly quite close to the actual outcomes.

The SAS Group is well-known for its accuracy in forecasting election outcomes and for its perceptive analysis of political issues.
