Saudi Arabia Launches Non-Profit City, With Schools, Colleges, Museums

In the latest update, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud recently announced the launch of the first non-profit city.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman To Develop Non-Profit Sector 

As per the latest reports, the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Non-Profit City in Riyadh is expected to be a model for the development of the non-profit sector globally. It is further expected to be an incubator for the youth and volunteer groups along with the local and international non-profit institutions.

The city will be built on an area of around 3.4 square kilometres and will support innovations, entrepreneurship and qualifying future leaders by defining the non-profit work. The city further implements the digital twin model and will host academics, colleges, schools, science museums, a creative center for innovators in science and new generation tech, and a conference center.

The Crown prince further informed that the city will also host venture capital firms and investors to support and incubate innovate enterprises to drive community contributions from across the world.

Saudi Arabia Recognizes Covishield

In another update, Saudi Arabia has recognized the Serum Institute of India’s Covishield as an approved Covid vaccine for entry within the country. With the move, Saudi Arabia has facilitated travel for the vaccinated Indian travellers without going for institutional quarantine.

With this step, Covishield has now joined the list of eight other vaccines that are approved in the country including Pfizer BioNTech, Comirnaty, SK Bioscience, Vaxzevria, Johnson & Johnson, Oxford AstraZeneca and Spikevax.

This step comes as a positive step as Saudi begins to reopen its borders for Indian tourists.  Along with the proof of vaccination, the travelers will also require negative RT PCR reports of no more than 72 hours before the arrival.
