Sehwag’s nephew became a millionaire, Kohli’s fitness rival, now a Hyderabadi player

The auction for the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was held in Kochi. In this auction, money has been showered on the players and the players and players became millionaires in a night. One of them is Mayank Dagar who is the nephew of former India opener Virender Sehwag. Mayank has been signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 1.8 crore. Now he is in limelight.

Mayank landed in the IPL auction with a base price of Rs 20 lakh. Sunrisers battled for them with Rajasthan Royals. Both tried to rope in the all-rounder but at one point Rajasthan pulled away and Sunrisers won. Earlier, Mayank was a part of the Punjab Kings team.

Mayank Dagar is the player who was part of the team that played in the final of the U-19 World Cup in 2016. Under the captaincy of Ishan Kishan, the team entered the final of the World Cup played in Bangladesh in the same year.

The coach of this team was Rahul Dravid, who is the main coach of India today. In 2016, the player made his debut for Himachal Pradesh. He was bought by Punjab in the mega auction in 2018 but did not play a single match. He then disappeared for the next four years, but Sunrisers brought him back into the limelight by betting on him once again.

Mayank is one of those athletes who is known more for his fitness than his game. Mayank outplayed Virat Kohli in the U-Y Test in 2018, as reported by Character. Mayank’s yo-yo score this year was 19.3 while Kohli’s was 19. He also outplayed Manish Pandey. Manish Pandey’s score was 19.2.

If we look at Mayank’s career so far, he has played 29 first-class matches and taken 87 wickets. During this time his economy stood at 3.05. During this time he also scored 732 runs at an average of 20.33 which included three fifties. In the list, he has played 46 matches so far and has taken 51 wickets. Also scored 393 runs. During this time, half a century has come out of his bat.
