Shamshabad bagged 4 new road improvement works costing 228 crore

In a tactical approach to the issue of chocking points in the City outskirts, the government has approved 104 works to the tune of Rs.2410 crores under Missing Link and Existing Road Improvement Project. The works will be carried out by Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Limited (HRDCL) for which an order was already issued.

It is said that out of the 104 works awarded to the HRDCL, the Municipal Council Shamshabad – a new municipality on the city outskirts formed in the year 2019, has bagged four roads under package-I of the project which will be improved by spending a total estimation cost of Rs.228 crores.

Explaining the same, Commissioner Municipal Council Shamshabad Mohd.Saber Ali said, “The four roads approved by the government under Missing Link and Existing Road Improvement Project will address the traffic issues at main choking points and change the geographical course of the municipality.”

Going into detail he said, “the existing 50 feet road from Bus Stop Shamshabad to Oasis International School (Rallaguda Road) will be extended from 80 to 120 feet as the stretch is somewhat wider at one point narrowed at other during its full course. This road will be improved to a length of about four kilometres with a cost of Rs.48 crores.”

The official further explained that another road from Gollapally to ORR service road (Pedda Golconda) will be improved upto seven kilometers by spending Rs.84 crores. According to officials, the present width of the road is 30 feet but will be expanded to 100 feet.

Apart from this, he said, a five kilometers long stretch from Shamshabad Railway crossing to Dharmagiri was also included in the project which will be improved from existing 20-30 feet to 80-100 feet. Similarly, a three kilometer pathway from Tondupally to ORR service road will be developed with a fund to the tune of Rs.36 crores. Here the existing width of the road is merely 15 feet but will be expanded to 100 feet.

Upon completion of these four roads, main choking points will be cleared soon that will surely change the geographical course of the municipality,” the official claimed.
