‘SHE Shuttle’ bus flagged off by Cyberabad police

A “SHE Shuttle” bus connecting Madhapur Police Station to Inorbit Mall was launched on Wednesday by the Cyberabad Police in coordination with Society for Cyberabad Security Council.

The vehicle was launched especially for the safety and security of women, said SCSC Chairman and Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Stephen Raveendra during the event.

The shuttle bus provided by the SCSC is completely free and can be tracked at any time, according to Krishna Yedula, General Secretary of the SCSC.

All-female passengers, a technology-driven security system, and a free ride are what make She Shuttle a dream transport system for many women. Passengers can track the shuttles in real-time, so they do not have to wait at the bus stops for them to arrive.

There are 12 SHE shuttles currently operating in the city.

‘Mahila Darbar’ to be held in Hyderabad

On June 10 at Raj Bhavan, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan will hold a ‘Mahila Darbar’ to “hear the voices of the unheard women”. According to the statement, the program will last one hour, from noon to 1 pm.

Women wishing to make an appointment with the Governor can contact the Raj Bhavan at 040-23310521 or email the Raj Bhavan at [email protected].

Despite the Governor’s decision in January to hold Praja Darbars, the first public interaction with women is taking place now.

In addition, the Governor launched a public suggestion/grievances box at Raj Bhavan. By sending the grievances to the respective departments, the Raj Bhavan ensures that the issues are resolved.

Despite the CMO’s Twitter handle extending birthday wishes to the Governor on June 2, the Governor did not respond.

The ‘Mahila Darbar’ move will probably increase tensions between the governor and the state government during a period when the state is already reeling from an incident where a minor was gang-raped in an upscale area of Hyderabad on May 28 and two more Pocso cases have been registered in the city.
