Hyderabad: National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has signed an agreement with Singareni for the financial year 2019-20 for purchase of 80 lakh tonnes of coal. In lieu of this, Agreement was signed by Chief General Manager (Fuel transport – New Delhi) from NTPC S.D.Prasad and General Manager, Marketing from Singareni Anthony Raja Friday (June 28) at Singareni Bhavan, here today.
As per this agreement in the financial year 2019-20 Singareni has to supply 80 lakh tonnes of coal to NTPC. This coal will be supplied to the thermal power plants of NTPC located in the States of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Orissa, Haryana and Chhattisgarh along with Telangana. Singareni is to supply different grades of coal from its Sattupalli, Manuguru, Mandamarri, Ramagundam and other mines. On this occasion officials of both the companies held detailed discussions on how many rakes of coal from which areas to be supplied. GM Anthony Raja briefed about the quality control enhancements measures being taken up in SCCL as per the guidelines of C&MD N. Sridhar.
SINGARENI IS A TRUSTWORTHY COMPANY
Chief GM (FT) S.D. Prasad appreciated and said that Singareni has been supplying coal to NTPC plants for some decades and are helping in generation of power by supplying coal on time. Singareni is much better when compared to Coal India in supplies. He also said that coal is being used in the existing and upcoming thermal power plants and Singareni is also giving priority to them.
