SKM Announces To Burn Effigies of PM Modi, Amit Shah on Dusshera

As per the latest updates, a day after the antim ardas of the farmers who died on October 3 through an accident at the Lakhimpur Kheri, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Wednesday had threatened to burn the effigies of Prime Minister Naredra Modi and other BJP members. Some of the names include MoS for Home Ajay Misra whose son is being accused in the case.

SKM To Burn Effigies On Dussehra

As per the statement released by SKM, they demand that Ajay Misra Teni should be removed from his position and arrested immediately by the police. The statement said that there are multiple videos that show that Ajay Misra’s threats to the farmers protesting with black flags.

The statement further said that with the videos it is clear that he was promoting enmity, hatred and disharmony. And his continuation as the Union Minister of State compromises on the justice towards that farmers that lost their lives. And it was unimaginable that the Modi government continues to defend him.

SKM announced that they would be burning the effigies on Dussehra i.e, on October 15.

Punjab Unit Of BJP Writes To State DGP In Response

In response to the statements made by the SKM, the Punjab unit of BJP has asked the state DGP to book the SKM leaders as they are hurting the hindu sentiments by burning effigies of PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

They had urged the police to protect the sanctity of the religious festival.

“But no one can be permitted to disrupt peace and harmony of the state,” said Dr Subhash Sharma, general secretary of the Punjab BJP.

He further said that many of the leaders of SKM are “deliberately and maliciously” are hurting the feelings of the society.

Meanwhile, Dr Darshan Pal, member of SKM and the President of the Krantikari Kisan Union, Punjab, said they will be avoiding the sensitive areas but the call to burn effigies is for the entire country.
