SpiceJet partners with GMR Hyderabad for COVID-19 vaccine delivery from the city

Hyderabad:- On Thursday Spicejet had announced that it has signed an agreement with the GMR Hyderabad Air cargo (GHAC) to ensure flawless delivery of the Covid-19 vaccine from Hyderabad airport to other states and countries.

There is a number of Pharmaceutical industries in and around Hyderabad. The Rajiv Gandhi International airport of Hyderabad which is managed by GMR groups is expected to be the hub of transportation of the Covid-19 vaccine to other states and countries.

In a statement, SpiceJet said as a part of an MoU signed between SpiceJet and GMR groups the GMR Hyderabad Air cargo (GHAC) will provide required space at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport for the vaccine shipments and will also train the aircrew.

“SpiceJet on its part will keep a dedicated fleet of freighters, including wide-body aircraft, at the Hyderabad airport to handle all domestic and international consignments,” said the SpiceJet.

As per MoU the SpiceJet cargo arm-SpiceXpress will provide a speedy, efficient, reliable solution for vaccine delivery and also make a cold chain network accordingly.

“SpiceXpress aims to provide the first mile pick up and last-mile delivery to carry COVID-19 vaccines across the other states and countries in a temperature-controlled environment,” SpiceJet added.
