Sri Guru Nanak Parkash Yatra flagged off

Hyderabad: The 550th Sri Guru Nanak Parkash Yatra was flagged off by TRS working president K T Rama Rao from the Ameerpet Gurudwara Saheb on Thursday. Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Chairman of Telangana State Minorities Commission Mohd. Qamaruddin, Advisor to Government on Minority Affairs A K Khan and others were present.

Before flagging off the yatra, members of 550th Saal Guru Nanak Parkash Yatra organizing committee of Hyderabad and Secunderabad took KTR and Srinivas Yadav into the Gurudwara Sahib where they paid obeisance to Guru Granth Sahibji. They presented a Siropa (robe of honour) and Kirpan (sword) to the visiting dignitaries. Later, KTR flagged off the Yatra, which will traverse through various parts of the city for next two days. The Yatra started on June 2 this year from Sri Gurudwara Nanak Jhira Bidar in Karnataka and traveled various parts of the country covering major cities, towns and State capitals and reached Hyderabad on Wednesday evening.

Today, a Nagar Keertan was taken out from Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet and passed through Punjagutta, Khairatabad, Lakdi-ka-pul, Abids, Koti and Putlibowli, Central Gurudwara Saheb Gowliguda, Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Afzalgunj, Nayapul, Madina, Charmahal Gurudwara, Puranapul, Bahadurpura, Puratan Gurudwara Saheb, Asha Singh Bagh, Sikh Chavani for night halt.

Committee chairman S Gurucharan Singh Bagga said Vishaal Diwan (Mass congregation) will be held at Puratan Gurudwara Saheb Asha Singh Bagh on September 6 and Sikh Chavani from 11 am to 3 pm where Ragi Jathas will render Shabad Keertans.

On September 7, the Yatra will start from Gurudwara Saheb Baram Bala Sikh Chavani at 7.30 am and proceed to BHEL, Patancheru, Sangareddy and the yatra will culiminate at Gurudwara Nanak Jhira Bidar in Karnataka at 2 pm on Saturday. (NSS)
