Hyderabad: Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud today said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao gas launched Neera Policy for the welfare of the Gouda community in Telangana state.
The minister has participated in a program at Medchal district here and shared Neera extracted from the Jeelugu tree among participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas Goud said that KCR has started Neera policy for the self-respect if goods across the state.
The excise Minister stated that hey are fir first time offering Neera from Jeelugu trees in Telangana.
Telugu tree offers pure Neera drink and it boasts of complete medicinal contents and useful for health the minister claimed. People can consume Neera of toddy trees and Jeelugu trees the minister appealed.
Srinivas Goud said that each Jeelugu tree produces Neera after six years of its plantation. He also stated that the Jeelugu Trees, are highly productive as they offer about 40 liters to 50 liters of Neera everyday.
The minister said that Mahatma Gandhi also once said that Neera has medicinal values.
