State govt ensuring benefits of welfare schemes reach every house in State: KTR

Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao stated that the state government is implementing welfare schemes in a systematic manner to ensure that benefits reach every poor family in the state.

Rama Rao said after laying the foundation stone for handloom clusters at Theratpally and Gattuppal, which will cost Rs 8.91 crore, that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had repeatedly stated that the smile on the people’s faces was the only metric for the effectiveness of any government. As a result, the BRS government implemented welfare programs for people of all sections.

“We talk politics only during elections. The support of the people gives further encouragement to the state government in serving the people,” he added.

Assuring that irrigation issues in the Munugode Assembly Constituency would be resolved soon, the Minister stated that a town beautification project would change the face of Chandur within six months. A Rs.2 crore integrated vegetable and meat market would also be built in Chandur.

Munugode MLA Koosukuntla Prabhakar Reddy, Thungathurthy MLA G Kishore, Nalgonda Zilla Parishad Chairman Banda Narender Reddy, and others were in attendance.

100 more Basthi Dawakhanas in various ULBs

The State Government is extending quality treatment to the urban poor this year by establishing 100 more Basthi Dawakhanas in municipalities and municipal corporation limits throughout the State.

In the first phase, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development department, in collaboration with the Health department, established 85 Basthi Dawakhanas in various Urban Local Bodies (ULBs). Following the success of the first phase, the State government has approved the establishment of 101 more Basthi Dawakhanas in 63 ULBs in the second phase. Each clinic will cost Rs.13.2 lakh to set up.

Depending on the population, two or more Basthi Dawakhanas are being established in municipalities and municipal corporations for people’s convenience. During the Covid-19 pandemic, these clinics provided high-quality care to the public, particularly the poor and daily wage workers.
