The employees of the Vizag steel plant today served a strike notice on the management of the plant. The employees served the notice under the banner of the Vizag steel plant protection struggle committee.
The members of the committee met with the chairman and managing director of the plant. In their notice, the employees demanded the management to withdraw the decision of the privatization of the plant, cancellation of an agreement for the sale of Seethamma Dhara lands, and an agreement executed with Post.

They also demanded the management to provide permanent employment to all those employees who have R-cards. The leaders have announced that they would go on strike at any time after the period of 14 days. The agitation of the workers has been intensified after the statement of union finance minister Nirmala Seetharaman that they were selling the plant.
