Sunday Funday, Ek shaam Charminar ke naam to make comeback with improvements

Two beloved city weekend events, Sunday Funday and Ek Shaam Charminar ke Naam, are all set to make a comeback with improvements.

On the day before Independence Day, the iconic Sunday Funday at Tank Bund and Ek Shaam Charminar ke Naam returned after a break of several weeks, and Hyderabadis welcomed the events with open arms.

Band concerts, cultural events, and sporting events will mark the completion of Swatantra Bharatha Vajrotsavalu. It is a great opportunity for musicians and artists to showcase their talents at the gatherings.

At Tank Bund on Sunday, August 21, Ek sham Charminar Ke Naam will conclude Swatantra Bharatha Vajrotsavalu. The Special Chief Secretary for Urban Development Arvind Kumar invited artists and musicians to showcase their talent.

Sunday, Aug 21st – Sunday Funday at Tank Bund and Charminar ke Naam to conclude Swatantra Bharatha Vajrotsavalu. Come with friends & family for a relaxed enjoyable evening. Artists/musicians are welcome to come & display their talent (sic), Arvind Kumar wrote on Twitter.

As a result of many factors, including COVID-19 limitations, the Sunday-Funday program was briefly suspended in 2021.

As a result of citizen suggestions, the Telangana minister for municipal administration and urban development K.T Rama Rao directed officials to make Tank Bund traffic-free during evening hours every Sunday in August 2021 so that people could enjoy the evening on the lake’s banks.

The program was launched on August 29 and quickly became a hit, with a large number of families flocking to the landmark.

In addition to arts and crafts, music and music lessons were later added on the minister’s advice.

Similarly, a program was launched at the historic Charminar. The decision was made in response to a request made by Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi. ‘Ek shaam Charminar ke naam’ was the name given to the event.

Every Sunday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., the festival included cultural, arts, and crafts activities.
