Suspend Raja Singh from BJP: Muslim cleric to PM Modi

According to Muslim cleric Moulana Ali Quadri, BJP legislator T Raja Singh insulted Muslims by using foul language against an Islamic scholar, calling for him to be suspended from the party.

ANI quotes the cleric as saying, “BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma made insulting remarks against Islam, while Naveen Jindal also attacked the religious sentiments of Muslims.”

Nupur Sharma has been suspended and Jindal has been expelled by the BJP following our call to the government. That is something we would like to express our gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

“An action of this nature will ensure that the Ganga Jamuna Tahzeeb will last forever and that the country can move toward growth.”

“We also wish to draw attention to the fact that the Hyderabad Ghoshamahal MLA has used very foul language against Huzur Khaja Garib Nawaz, thereby insulting Muslims. In addition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi should have taken action against him and suspended him from the party. We request that T Raja Singh be suspended from the party,” he added.

Indian ruling party suspends official for anti-Islam comments

BJP spokeswoman Nupur Sharma was suspended by the ruling party after she made remarks about the Prophet Mohammed during a television debate on Sunday. An official statement posted on the BJP website said that the party respected religions of all kinds. In a strong statement, the BJP says it condemns insults of any sort directed at religious personalities.

Sharma said on Twitter that she was responding to comments about a Hindu god, but that no religious sentiment was intended to be hurt. I hereby unconditionally withdraw my statement if my words have caused anyone discomfort or hurt religious feelings in any way.” she said.

Naveen Jindal, another BJP spokesman, was expelled from the party for making anti-Islamic comments on social media, according to the BJP office.

In a tweet, Jindal questioned some statements made about Hindu gods. It doesn’t mean I oppose any religion merely because I questioned them.” According to the BJP, “the Bharatiya Janata Party does not promote people who insult or demean any religion or sect.”.

Qatar and Kuwait have both complained about Sharma’s remarks. The Pakistani government condemned the remarks in the strongest terms possible. As a result of the escalating Islamophobia situation in India, Pakistan once again urges the international community to take immediate action.

In a statement, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the Indian ambassador had been summoned over the remarks. Kuwait summoned the Indian ambassador and allegedly gave the ambassador a protest note in which Kuwait rejected and denounced the statements made by the BJP official.

As part of its statement, Qatar’s foreign ministry said it welcomed the BJP’s decision to suspend the official, but expressed expectations that India would apologize for their remarks and condemn them immediately.
