State Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today asked the officials of his department to speed up the construction of the work of cattle sheds and sheep sheds under MGNREGS.
He held a high-level review meeting on the issue at his office in the city. The Secretary of the department Anitha Rajendra the director of the department Laxma Reddy additional director Ramchandra also attended the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that they were constructing the cattle Sheds to accommodate 6 herds of cattle in one shed and added that they were spending Rs. 57,000 for the construction of each shed. He asked the officials to hold awareness programs for all the dairy farmers and make sure that they utilized the opportunity. He said that as against the 6,453 applications received by the department, the construction of 3,631 had been completed by their department and added that the construction of the remaining 2,822 cattle sheds would be completed very soon. He asked the officials to coordinate with the district-level officials of other departments.

Talasani further asked the officials to take up all the steps for the distribution of the second phase of the sheep distribution scheme from June 2 of this year. He said that the state government had already taken up several steps for the protection of the herd of sheep and added that they were also distributing requisite vaccines free of cost. He said that they had distributed 77.06 lakh sheep to 3,66, 976 beneficiaries. He said that the state government had decided to build sheep markets in all the districts
