Tamannaah Bhatia Summoned Over Promotion of Gaming App

Bollywood actress Tamannaah Bhatia has been summoned by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell due to her promotion of a subsidiary app of the Mahadev online gaming and betting platform. Known for her roles in ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Lust Stories 2’, Bhatia has been called as a witness and is set to appear before the cyber cell next week.

The summons is related to allegations that the FairPlay betting app, promoted by Bhatia, engaged in illegally streaming Indian Premier League (IPL) matches. A broadcaster’s complaint highlighted the app’s illegal streaming, according to PTI.

This follows the Maharashtra Cyber Cell’s questioning of singer Badshah and the managers of actors Sanjay Dutt and Jacqueline Fernandez in the same case.

FairPlay, a betting exchange platform, offers various sports and entertainment betting options, with cricket being the most popular, followed by football and tennis.

The Mahadev online gaming app, of which FairPlay is a subsidiary, has previously faced scrutiny. Last year, actors Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, who appeared in advertisements for the app, were summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning.
