Tamil Nadu CM Claims False Opposition Propaganda Against Minorities

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami recently made a statement regarding minorities in the state. In the statement he assured the citizens that the government will take responsibility to provide security to the minorities in Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu CM Takes a Dig at the Opposition

As per the statements made by Tamil Nadu CM, he claimed that the opposition parties were allegedly running false propaganda against his party [AIADMK] and their governance. He said that the opposition parties are spreading false information regarding the security of minorities in Tamil Nadu.

Palaniswami said that his government will ensure “full security” to the minorities of Tamil Nadu. The AIADMK leader made the statement while he was rallying in the Vellore region for the second days regarding the upcoming elections in the state.

Meanwhile, as he spoke in a meeting at the Ambur in Tirupathur district, the AIADMK leader said that his party or his government will never discrimination the people based on their caste or religion. He further claimed that his party has never really played the “religious or caste” card for winning the elections. However, some people have tried to win votes in the name of religion and castes, Palaniswami claimed.

DMK Allegedly Favors Personal Interests Over Public Welfare

The Chief Minister further took a dig at DMK and its president M K Stalin. He said that the DMK’s first family is working towards their personal welfare but not for the people.

Palaniswami alleged in a statement that DMK works only for the interests of the family. He further said that Late Karunanidhi did visit Delhi a few times but the purpose was never for the people of Tamil Nadu.

During this speed, he also moved towards Stalin and claimed that he only focused on his constituency, Kolathur. However, AIADMK focused on all the 234 assembly segments of Tamil Nadu. He further claimed that they treat all segments equally.

The CM said that his government has provided welfare assistance and various other schemes to all the segments and not just in the ones AIADMK won.

When are the Assembly Elections in Tamil Nadu?

The assembly elections in Tamil Nadu are scheduled to be held in April-May 2021. The parties in the state have already started their campaigning. DMK’s leader MK Stalin is working towards becoming the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister for the first time. Whereas E Palaniswami from AIADMK is looking forward to his re-election.

The BJP party has allied with the AIADMK and is said to be in talks with MK Alagiri, Stalin’s estranged brother. As per reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the state on February 14, 2021. He will first visit Kerala and inaugurate Integrated Refinery Expansion Complex and meet Kerela’s BJP leader. Then he will visit Tamil Nadu and participate in the inauguration of Chennai Metro Rail Services.

Meanwhile, Kamal Hassan had to put his campaign on halt for his leg surgery. And superstar Rajnikanth was to launch his own political party this year but cancelled due to health concerns.
