Hyderabad : A Technical Committee comprising four ENCs appointed by the State government today submitted its report to cabinet sub-committee on construction of new secretariat here. The technical committee report was submitted to the cabinet sub-committee by principal secretary Sunil Sharma at Secretariat here.

Principal Secretary Sunil Sharma handed over the report for construction of new secretariat by taking all details and issues in view and by demolishing structures in existing Secretariat premises. The Cabinet Sub-Committee will study the report and will submit it to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Members of the sub-committee V Srinivas Goud and V Prashanth Reddy said they received the report by the technical committee with proposals and feasibility for construction of the new secretariat. The Chief Minister will also go through the report of the technical committee and approve it, they informed.

KCR had laid foundation for new Secretariat building on last July 27.  It was estimated to cost Rs 400 crore for new secretariat and Rs 100 crore for new Assembly. The Opposition leaders are opposing the plan as it will burden the exchequer and moved courts and verdict is awaited. (NSS)
