Telangana: BJP MP Got Booked For Making Abusive Speech Against CM KCR

Saroornagar police booked Nizamabad BJP MP Arvind Dharmapuri for abusing and delivering a provocative speech against Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.

Saroornagar police were contacted by Hyderabad-based advocate Ravi Kumar, who said the BJP MP Arvind Dharmapuri had abused Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and others during a press conference held by the BJP State office in Nampally on July 13.

The advocate discovered the MP’s speech on youtube. As a result of the complaint, the Saroornagar police booked an arrest warrant for Arvind Dharmapuri under Sections 504 and 505 (1) (c) of the IPC.

Another arrest for BJP’s State Formation Day skit

The Hayathanagar police arrested Barupatla Raju, a folk artist from Warangal, on Tuesday for allegedly inciting hate and provoking violence in a skit organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party.

On June 10, the police arrested Jitta Balakrishna Reddy, Rani Rudrama, and Dharuvu Yellanna, and Bandi Sanjay, the party’s State chief, was served with a notice. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) filed a complaint with the police over the arrests.
A complaint stated on June 2 that the organizers of the event had made derogatory remarks, personally attacked Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and misled the public about the government’s various schemes through skits and performances.

A series of surveys with different results has raised political temperatures in Telangana, with all three major parties-TRS, Congress, and BJP-claiming they will form the next government, no matter what the results of these surveys are.

As per a recent private survey, TRS is likely to receive 38.88% of the vote, followed by the BJP with 30.48 percent, Congress with 23.71 percent, and others with 6.91 percent.
TRS polled 46.9 percent of the votes and won 88 seats followed by Congress with 28.4 percent and 19 seats, while BJP won one seat with even percent.

In subsequent by-elections, BJP added two MLAs in the southern state due to defections, raising TRS’ tally to 102. A survey conducted by another agency predicted the TRS would get 39.5% of the votes (56-59 seats), followed by the Congress with 31% (37-39 seats) and the BJP with 21% (17 seats).
