Telangana: CM KCR decides to name new secretariat after BR Ambedkar

Telangana’s Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has decided to name the new State Secretariat after Dr. BR Ambedkar. The Indian Constitution was drafted under the leadership of Dr. Ambedkar. According to the Chief Minister, Telangana’s Chief Secretary has been instructed to take steps in this matter.

In addition, the CM said that he would write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to request him to consider naming the new Parliament building after Dr. Ambedkar.

KCR said that it is a proud moment for Telangana that the state’s administrative headquarters, the State Secretariat, is being named after the social philosopher and intellectual Dr. BR Ambedkar. This decision is an exemplary example for India. The Telangana government is following Dr. Ambedkar’s philosophy that all Indians deserve equal respect in all fields.

He further said that the aspirations of Dr. Ambedkar can be seen in Telangana emerging as a role model in the country in terms of self-governance by promoting all sections of the people in social, political, economic, and cultural fields.

According to him, Telangana has emerged as a state because Dr. Ambedkar incorporated Article 3 into the Constitution. By implementing Dr. Ambedkar’s spirit, Telangana is being governed with a human face for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, OBCs, minorities, women, and the poor.

He stated that a real Indian is one where everyone is respected equally without discrimination based on caste, creed, gender, or region, ensuring equal opportunity for all. It will be our goal to accomplish that, he added.

Telangana assembly has already adopted a unanimous resolution regarding the name of India’s new Parliament building after Dr. Ambedkar, KCR said.

The TRS working president KT Rama Rao also called for naming the new Parliament building after Dr. Ambedkar in the state legislature.
