Telangana CM KCR’s Maharashtra Visit: Strengthening BRS Presence and Promoting Telangana Model

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, also known as ‘KCR,’ is scheduled to visit Pandharpur and Tuljapur temple towns in Maharashtra during his two-day visit starting from Monday. This visit is part of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s (BRS) efforts to expand its presence in Maharashtra ahead of the state Assembly polls next year.

KCR will arrive in Omerga, Osmanabad district, on Monday and then proceed to Solapur. On Tuesday, he will visit the Lord Vitthal temple in Pandharpur town to offer prayers. He will also attend a locally arranged program in Sarkoli village of Solapur. Later, he will visit the famous Tulja Bhavani temple in Tuljapur, Osmanabad.

In June 2022, KCR inaugurated the BRS party’s first office in Maharashtra in Nagpur as part of his plan to expand the party’s presence beyond Telangana. He has expressed concerns over farmer suicides in Maharashtra and advocated for implementing the “Telangana model” of development in the state, citing the success of 24-hour power and water supply in reducing farmer suicides in Telangana.

The BRS, formerly known as the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, aims to become a pan-India party and has initiated efforts to expand its network in Maharashtra. KCR has been critical of the BJP-led central government and the Maharashtra government, accusing them of neglecting farmers and the marginalized sections of society.

KCR’s visit to Pandharpur and Tuljapur is expected to strengthen the BRS’s presence in Maharashtra and garner support for the party in the upcoming Assembly polls.
