Telangana Continues Registration of Properties After the Launch of Dharani Services

Following fifty-five days, registration of agriculture lands continued in Telangana on Monday with the launch of Dharani, the one-stop portal for all land and property-related transactions just as documentation.

Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar officially rolled out the services at Shamshabad Tahsildar office in Ranga Reddy district.

The services were launched in all mandals (blocks) barring 20 mandals under the Hyderabad region.

The officials state the new system will plug loopholes in the registration procedure as well as store all land and property-related data online. The documents relating to registration, mutation, partition, and succession also would be given on the spot.

Records of 59.46 properties relating to 1.48 lakh acres of land have already been uploaded by the officials on the Telangana Dharani portal.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had officially initiated the portal on October 29 and the very day slot bookings had begun for transactions related to agricultural land.

946 applicants paid registration charges while 888 slots were booked on Monday, said, Somesh Kumar.

The slot booking can be made by giving Rs 200 at Mee Seva centers.

He said online registration and mutation of non-agricultural properties will likewise be launched soon.

The thought behind the Dharani portal is to offer services to individuals in a straight forward way with no room for any corruption, he added.

Created as a part of the integrated land record management system, the portal will improve straightforwardness and efficiency and will likewise give responsibility and safe and bother-free citizen registration for land registration, mutations and transfer.

The online network has been set up across 570 mandal revenue offices and furthermore 142 sub-registrar offices.

Under the New Revenue Act, the Tahsildars will moreover work as joint sub-registrars for registration of agricultural properties and the sub-registrars centers will direct registration of non-agricultural properties.

Officials stated the new system will improve the succession, registration and even partition of agricultural lands. The whole procedure is finished within a couple of minutes and the e-pattadar passbook will be given to the owners of the lands right away.

While rolling out the portal, the chief minister had stated that it would be a trendsetter for the whole nation. He accepts that the central and other state governments would be under stress to introduce a comparable system to guarantee straightforwardness in land transactions.
