Telangana Deputy CM Assures Continued Funding for Free Bus Travel for Women

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has stated that the state government will continue to help the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) in providing free bus transportation for women. This proposal is one of the Congress party’s six guarantees.

In a recent review meeting with senior officials, Deputy CM Vikramarka, joined by Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, encouraged TSRTC officials to look into new revenue sources that would not place financial burdens on customers. The meeting’s goal was to establish long-term solutions for the organization to provide seamless transportation for women.

Deputy Chief Minister Vikramarka expressed pleasure with the Mahalakshmi initiative, reporting that over 6.5 crore passengers had used the free bus service. He underlined the need of establishing efforts that would provide women with continuous and hassle-free transportation.

Vikramarka acknowledged the corporation’s financial issues and confirmed the government’s readiness to provide full support, assuring that the finance department is dedicated to providing adequate funds to pay operational needs. This promise indicates the government’s commitment to sustaining and improving vital services for the public’s benefit.
