Telangana Government To Recruit Healthcare Workers Amidst Rising Covid 19 Cases

Amidst the rising Covid 19 cases across India, the Telangana government has decided to increase their workforce for healthcare workers across 114 hospitals.

Telangana Chief Minister Appoints More Healthcare Workers

As per the latest reports, the Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao recently issued the order to appoint adequate healthcare staff. The staff will be appointed across 144 hospitals in the state to ensure proper and better quality medical care to the patients.

The CM so far has sanctioned 755 posts. It includes 144 doctors, 527 nurses and 84 lab technicians. However, this will cost the state’s exchequer a huge amount of Rs 9.02 crore. He has also instructed the District collectors to organise a “special recruitment drive” to contain the emergency Covid 19 situation. The recruitment drive will hold interviews and complete the appointment within five days.

Telangana Reports More Than 100 Cases In 19 Districts

As per the latest reports, Telangana reported 6551 new Covid 19 cases and 43 deaths in the past 24 hours. This has further pushed the tally to 65,597 in total. Around 19416 patients are being treated in the hospital and 46,181 cases are either under home isolation or institutional care.

Following the reports, the State officials have reported over 100 cases in 19 districts. The areas under the GHMC, Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri have reported 2500 cases in the past 24 hours.

Furthermore, the authorities data revealed that from Saturday to Sunday, the Covid rapid tests have taken 73,275 samples. And a total of 1,25,66,674 Covid 19 tests have been conducted in the State. Out of these 4,01,783 were tested positive and 3,34,144 people have recovered.

The recovery rate for Telangana currently stands at 83.16 percent which is more than average recovery rate across the country i.e., 82.6 percent.

Telangana Government To Provide Covid 19 Vaccine For 18+ Netizens for Free

Telangana CM recently announced that the Covid 19 vaccine will be provided for free to all the netizens above the age of 18 years. This comes after the central government announced that the citizens above the age of 18 will be eligible for Covid 19 vaccine from May 1.

CM Rao said that the state government will spend Rs 2500 crores on the vaccination programme across the state.
