Telangana Governor Greets People on ‘World Environment Day’

Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan today greeted the people of the state on the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5.

In a message, the Governor said, “on the occasion of the World Environment Day, let us resolve and rededicate ourselves to protect and promote the environment for the very sustainability of life on the Planet Earth.

We need to promote sustainable development so as to prevent the destruction of nature and its ecosystem and to promote healthy living on the Earth,” she said

Referring to the  World Environment Day-2021 theme, “Reimagine. Recreate. Restore,” she said that all people need to strive for the restoration of the ecosystem while stating that It is important to note that this year also marks the beginning of the United Nation’s Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.

She said that it was high time that all people need to halt the pollution, prevent the loss of biodiversity and plant trees in order to care for and nurture our fast degrading environment.

She said that the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic had aptly highlighted the need to protect the environment and biodiversity to prevent pandemics of this scale in the future.
“Let us strive to give the better and healthier environment for the future generations by protecting the environment and restoring the ecosystem to its pristine beauty,” she said
