Telangana Govt to launch KCR Nutrition Kits in nine districts

The state government will take up the initiative of providing KCR Nutrition Kits to pregnant women in nine districts who are unable to get a properly nutritious diet and suffer from a lack of blood, Health Minister T Harish Rao was quoted as saying on Monday. The minister conducted a monthly review of the performance of PHCs, medical officers, ANMs, and ASHA workers.

Rao stated that ASHAs, ANMs, and health center doctors are the primary strength of the health sector because they can provide medicines by identifying health issues in the early stages and saving patients’ lives.

Patients can also be saved from a financial crisis if they receive proper medication on time. He requested that doctors conduct ANCs on a monthly basis, as well as officials from districts such as Vikarabad, Nagarkurnool, Yadadri, Vanaparthy, and Jagtial in order to explain why their score was less compared to the past year.

In the event of a delivery, the minister gave these professionals several instructions.

He requested that higher officials and DMHOs in districts such as Nizamabad, Suryapet, Hanamkonda, Jagtial, Karimnagar, and Mancherial review the number of deliveries in private hospitals.

According to the minister, 57.99 percent of deliveries in the state were performed via C-section. C-sections are more common in the following districts: Hanamkonda, Jagtial, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Karimnagar, Mahabubabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, and Sircilla. He wanted officials to control the C-sections.

“Ensure there is a C-section only when there is a risk for the mother and child. Give priority to normal deliveries. About 133 midwives have completed the 18-month course and are ready to join duties. They would assist pregnant women in exercises, which will help in normal deliveries, “Rao stated.

The minister urged authorities to keep stocks of snake and dog bite medicines in PHCs and distribute them to the needy in order to save lives by providing 24-hour service.
