Telangana has surpassed Punjab in paddy production: CM KCR

Telangana has surpassed Punjab in paddy production, said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who noted that the state is at the top in the country across various development parameters.

In a speech to officials following the inauguration of the new integrated district collectorate building in Gadwal, he stated that Telangana is number one in per capita income among large states in the country.

Telangana is also the leader in per capita power utilization drinking water, and open defecation free (ODF) Plus, he added.

Rao, also known as KCR, stated that the state is making rapid progress and that governance is being carried out in a humane manner.

He credited the progress to the efforts of public representatives and officials, urging the authorities to keep up the good work.

“Punjab is the first state where Green Revolution happened. They have the record in paddy production for the past 50 years. Today, Telangana reached number one place in paddy production by surpassing Punjab,” he said.

“In the whole of India, paddy was cultivated in 94 lakh acres this summer. Out of that, 56.40 lakh acres was cultivated in Telangana alone. More than 50 per cent of (the total in) India,” KCR added.

Later, speaking at a public meeting in Gadwal, he stated that the state government is looking after all sections of society by implementing various welfare schemes.

He also emphasized his government’s progress and welfare schemes, such as irrigation projects, free power to farmers, the ‘Rythu Bandhu’ investment support scheme for farmers, and the ‘Mission Bhagiratha’ drinking water supply.

People used to migrate for work from Gadwal and other places, but now people are coming from other states, including Kurnool in neighboring Andhra Pradesh, Raichur in Karnataka, Bihar, and Jharkhand, he said

While Telangana 24×7 power supply, neighboring AP, which is only 20 kilometers away (from Gadwal), does not, said Rao.

In response to the Congress’s stance that it would scrap the BRS government’s ‘Dharani’ integrated land records management system, he asked those in the audience who wanted the database to continue to raise their hands.

Following the approval of the people, the Chief Minister stated that the people should teach the Congress a lesson.

He urged the crowd to safeguard the BRS if welfare measures such as uninterrupted power supply and Rythu Bandhu are to continue.
