Telangana inspires ‘One Nation One Card’ in four States

Hyderabad: Telangana government has implemented Ration Portability to get Ration commodities without any difficulty in the state particularly for poor people who migrate from one place to other in search of work. This Ration Portability has gained huge appreciation and became inspiration for Government of India’s project ‘One Nation-One Card’.

From August 1, the Centre decided to start the project under pilot mode in 2 clusters of two States each in a phased manner. In Telangana State, 2.82 crore beneficiaries are benefited with Ration Anywhere (Portability) as they can get their ration from any ration shop, which was introduced by Civil Supplies Department on April 1, 2018. Ration from Anywhere (Portability) gained huge success as number of beneficiaries using this facility was growing constantly. Till now, some 2.07 crore Portability transactions are recorded. Particularly, Hyderabad recorded highest transactions of 42 lakh as more people migrant from State wide for work. Next in the list of highest transactions are Medchal 29 lakhs; Ranga Reddy 18 lakhs; Nizamabad 10 lakhs and Warangal nine lakhs.
