Telangana: Many temples to remain closed due to solar eclipse

Due to the solar eclipse, many temples across the state will remain closed on Tuesday. Some will hold morning rituals and then reopen only on Wednesday.

The Yadadri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple will close at 8.50 a.m. on Tuesday and reopen for darshans at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Temple Executive Officer N Geetha stated that the temple would open at 3 a.m. on Tuesday and close at 8.50 a.m. after performing the Nivedhana ritual. Darshan facility would be available only from 6.15 a.m. to 8.15 a.m. on the day, and would resume at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

In Rajanna Sircilla, the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada will be closed on Tuesday from 5 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.

It will be opened at 6.30 p.m. after Samprokshana puja. After performing Mahanivedana and Pradoshakala puja, devotees will be allowed into the shrine.

The ancient Sri Gnana Saraswathi Devi temple in Nirmal will remain closed, with temple officials stating that devotees would be permitted only on Wednesday.

From 5.30 a.m. on Tuesday to 7 a.m. on Wednesday, the famous Kaleshwara Muktheswara temple in Bhupalpally will be closed. Devotees have been advised not to visit the temple due to the eclipse closure. According to Executive Officer Mahesh, the temple will reopen at 7 a.m. on Wednesday following Samprokshana rituals.

Due to the solar eclipse, the Bhadrakali and Thousand Pillar temples in Warangal and Hanamkonda, respectively, will be closed. Bhadrakali temple chief priest Sheshu said devotees would be allowed on Wednesday when the Kedareswara Vatram would also be held.

The partial solar eclipse will be visible in Hyderabad at 4:59 p.m., with the Moon covering 18.7 percent of the Sun at its peak. The city will witness a partial lunar eclipse on November 8 because the gap between the solar and lunar eclipses is usually two weeks.
