Telangana Minister Vows Action After School Food Poisoning

Vemula Prashant Reddy, Telangana’s Minister for Roads and Buildings, has promised to take harsh punishment against those involved for a recent food poisoning incident at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Nizamabad.

On Wednesday, he paid a visit to the hostel and directed officials to put in place steps to prevent similar situations in the future.Minister Prashant Reddy has stressed the need of keeping hygiene in the kitchen and surrounding surroundings, as well as serving meals from the government’s recommended menu.

“I will be visiting the hostel to check on the facilities provided to the students,” he said. If the staff fails to supply pupils with sanitary meals and safe drinking water, severe consequences will be imposed.”

Earlier this week, around 150 of 220 KGBV students who had dinner complained of stomachaches and began vomiting. The KGBV personnel acted quickly, alerting health department officials and providing first attention to the affected children.

Following that, 103 students were brought to the Nizamabad government hospital, where they were stabilized. The actual cause of the food poisoning is still being investigated.

Minister Prashant Reddy’s visit and dedication to protecting students’ safety and well-being underscore the government’s determination to address this issue and prevent it from recurring in educational institutions.
