Telangana on High Alert for Heavy Rain: Districts Prepare

With heavy rain anticipated in Telangana, Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari has issued an alert to district collectors in Adilabad, Nizamabad, and other districts. According to an official announcement, control rooms will be built in Collectorates to oversee the situation.

Heavy rain is expected in isolated areas of Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, and Nizamabad on Friday and Saturday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Hyderabad. On August 19, a yellow alert was issued for the state, anticipating heavy rains, thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls in Telangana.

The weather forecast for Hyderabad is for light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers on Saturday, with foggy conditions in the morning.

The Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers in several locations, with severe rain in isolated spots, until August 21. Light rain or thundershowers are likely in a few spots in Hyderabad over the next three days.

Telangana has had a surplus of rainfall during monsoon season, with an average rainfall of 588.4 mm compared to the normal amount of 489.6 mm. The average rainfall in Hyderabad is 450.1 mm, which is more than the usual rainfall of 388.6 mm.
