Telangana: SHE Team stops child marriage

Hyderabad: Bhongiri Division SHE Team staff and SHO of Yadagirigutta SHO and ICDS members visited the house of the minor girl and explained about child marriage and counseled both parents and rescued the girl, a police statement said.

According to the sources child marriage is scheduled to be held on July one.

Based on a complaint in this regard through the SHE for Her volunteers of Government Junior College, Yadagirigutta and stated that his friend aged about 17 years of Vadaigudem Village, Bhuvangiri Mandal, Yadadri district marriage was fixed with one 26 years man of Anumapuram Village in the same district.

Under Child marriage Prohibition act of 2006 minimum 2 years imprisonment and Rs one lakh fine is punishment and even mediators too are responsible. 18 years for girls and 21years for boys is minimum marriage age. Due to early marriage maternal death of mother chances are high. Below 18 girls and boys should be compulsory in schools as per Right to Education Act 2010 and Supreme Court order 2009.
