Telangana: Two men washed away while immersing Ganesh idol

Two men are alleged to have been washed away while immersing the Ganesh idol in a canal in Suryapet on Friday.

Kotinayakatanda in Atmakur Mandal was the site of the incident. Daravath Surya and Daravath Nagu were identified as the victims. Together with the locals, the police searched for the men. As of yet, the bodies have not been found.

Similarly, there were five major accidents during Ganesh immersion in Haryana and UP. Four people died after being washed away with the idol of Ganesh in the Jhagroli canal in Mahendragarh, Haryana.

In Sonipat, two people died in the Yamuna river, and two are still missing. Rescue operations are still taking place in Mahendragarh, Haryana.

In Uttar Pradesh, eight people have also died in different districts. There were four children who drowned in Sant Kabir Nagar. They were all brothers and sisters. It has been reported that all the bodies have been removed.

Two people drowned in Lalitpur and Unnao during immersion at the same time.

In Mahendragarh and Sonipat, Haryana, two accidents occurred during Ganesh immersion. The strong current of water washed away nine people who went to immerse Ganesh idol in the canal near village Jhagadoli located on Kanina-Rewari road. Late at night, eight people were pulled from the canal.

Four of them died. The other four are in serious condition. In Sonepat, three people drowned at Yamuna Ghat.

On Friday evening, eight people died in different accidents during Ganpati immersion in UP. The biggest accident occurred in Sant Kabir Nagar’s Ami river. Four children of the same family drowned here. Three sisters and one brother are among them.

The three sisters also got in the river when their brother landed in it. A child’s leg suddenly went into deep water. In an attempt to save him, the four children drowned one by one in the river.
