Temperatures drop below 33 degrees Celsius in Hyderabad

The scorching summer appears to have taken a back seat in Hyderabad. On Friday, the high temperature dropped to a pleasant 32.7 degrees Celsius, much to the delight of the locals.

The clouds rolled in throughout the day, providing welcome relief from the scorching sun. The city was engulfed in a cool breeze, and the sky remained overcast all day. The pleasant weather gave a sense of the monsoon in Hyderabad, despite the fact that it is still more than a month away.

Light rains are expected to continue on Saturday, with the day temperature remaining below 36 degrees Celsius and the night temperature hovering around 26 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

In a city that had ten heatwave days last year, April has seen none. The people of Hyderabad could finally step outside without feeling like they were being backed into an oven. It was as if the weather gods had decided to spare the city from summer’s wrath.

According to Dr. A. Sravani of the India Meteorologist Department-Hyderabad (IMD-H), the lower-than-normal temperatures were caused by “continuous troughs and convective activity.”

In fact, in some districts of Telangana, temperatures were recorded to be below 11 degrees Celsius normal. “This is practically unheard of in the month of April,” she said.

However, it has been predicted that temperatures will rise from May 10 onwards. Hyderabad could soon be engulfed in the unrelenting heat of summer. Pre-monsoon showers are also expected to end on May 7.

The IMD-H official predicts that the monsoon season, which usually begins on June 8, will be delayed by only two days. While temperatures may rise above normal at times, they are expected to remain within tolerable limits until June 10.
