The winter chill in Hyderabad is almost over

The winter season appears to be over for the people of Hyderabad. The city is unlikely to experience extreme cold spells this month, according to the latest India Meteorological Department – Hyderabad (IMD-H) forecast, which predicts that minimum temperatures will be normal and, on occasion, warmer than normal.

The weather in Hyderabad has been consistently warmer for the past few days, indicating that winter is coming to an end. Maximum and minimum temperatures have been above normal during the night and day. People barely had time to put on their woollens, and the chill factor was noticeably absent even at night.

“Hyderabad will experience normal to above normal minimum temperatures this January. Shivering cold conditions are expected in case of western disturbances in north India,” an IMD-H official said.

It was reported that the city recorded a maximum temperature of 31.7 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 20.4 degrees Celsius on Monday. The weather service predicts that the minimum temperature will range between 16 and 19 degrees Celsius over the next three days.

The Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) forecast also shows a similar outlook for weather conditions in Hyderabad over the next few days. It was said that the minimum temperatures are expected to be in the 18 to 20 degree Celsius range, with maximum daytime temperatures in the 31 to 33 degree Celsius range, according to TSDPS.

According to the TSDPS, night time temperatures in almost all GHMC regions have ranged between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours. While Hyderabad and the surrounding areas will remain warm, a few districts in Telangana, including Adilabad, Kamareddy, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, and Sangareddy, are expected to experience colder weather for a few more weeks in January.
