Excise and Tourism Minister Srinivas Goud today stated that the process of issuing licenses to Gowdas for toddy tapping and business are being simplified.
Instead of commissioners, deputy commissioners will issue necessary licenses to Gowdas the Minister said.
The Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao instructed to simplify the procedures. As a result the government has instructed the top officials to take steps to give licenses by district level authorities to toddy tappers.
He instructed excise commissioner and top officials to transfer powers to district officials. The related file is examined for approval at the higher level the officials said. This will help avoid delay as the collector and other officials will be freed from workload.

He instructed the officials concerned to take immediate action to ensure smooth functioning of the department. When the issue of delay in exgratia to deceased Gowda workers brought to his notice, the minister responded positively. He asked the officials concerned to take immediate action to avoid delay.
The Minister said that the orthopaedic surgeons will issue necessary medical certificates in this regard and asked for immediate action.
The certificates so far issued by state level officers got delay in getting the exgratia he opined. The orthopedic surgeons will give necessary medical certificates to get the same, Goud said.
