Traffic Volunteers Felicitated

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police Commissioner, in association with Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) today felicitated the IT & ITES employees, who were helping the Cyberabad Traffic Police in IT Corridor in regulating the traffic during the peak hours by extending their Voluntary Services outside of their regular office hours.

In the meeting, the SCSC Joint Secretary Venkat Tankasala said the SCSC will organize sports events among the traffic volunteers to keep them motivated and engaged. Later, he explained about the duties and responsibilities of the Traffic Volunteers for different verticals which will help the Volunteering to reach next levels. He also said from September 10, he would meet all the vertical heads regularly for planning and execution.

General Secretary Krishna Yedula said it was a rare and exquisite honor for all the Traffic Volunteers to have been felicitated by the Telangana Government along with a few of the SCSC Members for their valuable Volunteering Services. He said the Traffic Volunteers are serving relentlessly in streamlining the commuter experience for one and all.

DPC Traffic Vijay Kumar, IPS, said the Traffic Volunteers have been serving very religiously in the IT Corridor, especially the DLF Security Staff are doing the Traffic Volunteering daily even during rains at IIIT junction which was one of the busiest traffic junction and helping the Traffic Police to regularize the traffic to the maximum. He also acknowledged the support of Traffic Volunteers on June 21 when heavy rains caused traffic issues like grid locks, water logs and so on. He also requested the SCSC to organize exclusive Traffic Volunteering drives in the IT & ITES companies to encourage and seek more enrollments for Traffic Volunteers.

Commissioner V C Sajjanar congratulated the Traffic Volunteers who have been serving along with the Traffic Police. He said the Cyberabad Police will distribute rain coats to all the Traffic Volunteers so that they can use them during rains. He also stressed the importance of the community outreach programs to create awareness among School/College students besides the Corporate employees.

During the interactive questions and answers session a few questions were raised about defunct traffic signals, bad roads, no stop lines at junctions and signals, for which DCP Traffic had replied. Later, the Commissioner felicitated 26 Traffic Volunteers under different categories. (NSS)
