Trains Blocked Amidst Bharat Bandh Against Farm Laws

With the Bharat Bandh call for Friday, by the farmers union, train services at 32 location in both Punjab and Haryana have been disrupted. The Bharat Bandh has been announced on the completion of four months of the protests against the farm laws.

 

Trains Stand Cancelled In 32 Locations Amidst Bharat Bandh

As per the latest reports, the railways has cancelled four Shatabdi Express trains. Deepak Kumar the spokesperson from Northern Railways have said that the agitated farmers are planning to sit 32 locations all across the Punjab, Haryana and Delhi along with Ambala and Firozepur. This will affect the rail movement in all these ares.

He further said that they 31 trains have been detained due to the farmers’ agitation.
The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) has said that all the shops, malls, commercial establishments and the markets will remain closed on Friday during the Bharat Bandh call on Friday. SKM has announced that the Bharat Bandh will be observed for 12 hours between 6 a.m to 6 p.m. However, essential services and ambulances shall remain open.

he Bharat Bandh on Friday in Delhi is being supported by representatives from the various farmer organizations, student groups, political parties, trade unions and state governments.

Thousands of farmers from Punjab, Western Uttar Pradesh and Haryana have been protesting at the Delhi borders; Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur since November last year.
They have been demanding a complete repeal of the farm’s laws and a law to ensure MSP for their produce.

Rahul Gandhi Supports Bharat Bandh

As per the latest reports, farmers have been sitting at the blocked locations since morning. Earlier this morning, Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter to support the Bharat Bandh by the farmer’s union. Later, inter state buses were also suspended until the Bharat Bandh was closed; from Chandigarh to Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana.
