Treatment of the inmates contracting with Corona

Amravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has initiated steps to treat 252 inmates who have been tested positively of Corona in Rajahmundry Central Jail. The administration of the Prison has Provided medical kits to them also. Doctors were sent from outside the jail to keep a tab on their health conditions. Measures have been taken to include the eggs, milk, pulses, leafy vegetables in the as a nutritional food for the prisoners who contracted positive for the COVID 19 infection. The administration also initiated the steps to boost their immunity power.

Currently, there are 1,200 inmates at the Central Jail. 1000 were tested. Meanwhile, Deputy DM&HO Dr. Komala said the remaining 200 should be tested and the results of those who have already been tested should release as soon as possible.

Positive to the Central Jail Physician

 Rajahmundry Central Jail has three doctors to treat inmates. One of them was diagnosed positive with COVID 19. With this, two doctors are currently providing medical services. Deputy DM&HO is providing medical services to the inmates under the supervision of Dr Komala. She said she had asked the authorities to engage the services of another physician besides. Dr. Komala said the positive inmates were kept in isolation in a special barracks.

Arrangements for emergency medical services

 Dr. Komala said arrangements have been made to move the inmates whose condition is serious to the government hospital and provide medical services. If necessary, they will be kept in the ICU and medical services will be provided. She said the health condition of the inmates who tested positive in the Central Jail was stable. We give them counseling every day.

It may be recalled that the Covid19 cases are drastically coming down in the neighboring state Andhra Pradesh as well, however, the door to door survey is also going on in the several districts of the state.
