Telangana Ministers for Sports V Srinivas Goud and Minister for Agriculture Singireddy Niranjan Reddy garlanded the statue of Suravaram Prathap Reddy and paid tributes to him on the occasion of his 125 birth anniversary at Tank Bund in the city on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Srinivas Goud said that Prathap Reddy was a historian, writer, poet, critic, editor and social reformer and was one of the most versatile personalities the Telangana region has produced.
Recollecting his services to the State, Srinivas Goud said that Prathap Reddy took part in the Telangana armed struggle against the Nizam rulers and made a relentless effort for bringing awareness among the people on various issues by setting up libraries in every village across the region.
Stating that Prathap Reddy had written books on all the subjects, Minister Prashanth Reddy emphasised that there is a need of popularising his books in the days to come as the present generation would inspire him for the betterment of the society.
