TRS counters BJP with RTI queries; asks info on PM Modi’s tour expenses

In response to more than 100 RTI applications filed by the Telangana BJP, the TRS on Thursday countered the BJP with questions seeking details on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tour expenses and central government departments.

TRS leaders said information would be sought from the PMO, the Union finance ministry, the home ministry, the external affairs ministry, and other key departments.

In the same way that the BJP sought information on KCR’s trips to various states and expenditures, the TRS will ask about PM’s trips to other countries, expenditures, the amount spent on the PM’s dresses, etc.

The other question is why Modi went to Lahore and met with Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, TRS MLA A Jeevan Reddy said.

After BJP State president Bandi Sanjay raised 88 RTI queries, TRS MLA Jeevan Reddy said that he would raise 100 questions. Speaking to reporters here, he asked BJP leaders why the Central government had not introduced the Women Reservation Bill.

All 100 of Jeevan Reddy’s questions were filed as RTI applications. He said that the BJP leaders will not be spared if the Centre fails to respond. Asserting that the BJP MPs are “gangs of dacoits and drug peddlers,” TRS MLA Jeevan Reddy demanded that both Modi and Sanjay show their education certificates.

Also, he recalled Bandi Sanjay’s recent claim that the Prime Minister stopped the Ukraine-Russia war. He said that the BJP government has not implemented the assurances given in the 2014 AP Reorganisation Act.

There were many BJP leaders at Bhagya Laxmi temple in Charminar, he said. However, our party is interested in learning how the Centre and other state governments have contributed to the temple’s development, he said

He added that the TRS governance is a transparent and open book, so applicants can seek any information they need.
